Hope Pyx Global is a survivor-led 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to victims and survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence. We serve all marginalized communities, including women/girls, men/boys, children, elderly, BIPOC/AAPI, MMIP/W, military/veterans, disabled, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, migrants/refugees, and culturally specific communities, etc.
ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer organization. All donations go towards the shelter funds and serving our victims and survivors. Our long-term mission to build shelters, trauma recovery centers, and social enterprises.
We have served over 11,000 people over 115 media platforms in multiple languages internationally, with an audience of over 37.2 million listeners, including TEDx.
There is a shortage of 500 beds in Harris County alone. In Texas, there are 315,000 human trafficking victims. Our long-term goal is to build shelters that provides a safe haven for survivors as well as facilitates education to equip people from all backgrounds for equal employment opportunities and entrepreneurship.
Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery. This crime occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against their will. Every year $150 billion is made from the trade across from over 148 countries. In terms of human trafficking rates, Houston is #1 among cities. Texas as a whole ranks #2 among all 50 states, after California as # 1, followed by Florida as # 3. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, 234,000 were labor trafficking, and 79,000 were sex trafficking.
Domestic abuse is a pattern of behaviors used by one partner to maintain power and control over another partner in an intimate relationship. Domestic abuse includes behaviors that physically harm, arouse fear, prevent a partner from doing what they wish or force them to behave in ways they do not want. It includes the use of physical violence and sexual assault, threats and intimidation, emotional abuse and economic deprivation. Many of these different forms of domestic violence can be occurring at any one time within the same intimate relationship.
Sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim. Some forms of sexual assault include attempted rape; fondling or unwanted sexual touching; forcing a victim to perform sexual acts, such as oral sex or penetrating the perpetrator’s body; penetration of the victim’s body, AKA rape.
According to the National Sexual Assault Hotline, every 92 seconds, another person experiences sexual assault. Sexual violence affects hundreds of thousands of Americans each year. While we' re making progress - the number of assaults has fallen by more than half since 1993 - even today, only 5 out of every 1,000 rapists will end up in prison.
Statistics shows that victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault are more likely to be trafficked. Anyone can be a victim regardless of age, race, gender, religion, nationality, social and economic status, or educational level. This is happening in our backyard.
