“With the amount of controversy and criticisms that the community of domestic violence and human trafficking survivors suffer every day, you would think that we would have more problems amongst ourselves. But that's not true. It amazes me to see how much more work we get done because we are an army of women; an army of survivors. When you are a survivor; you survive from all walks of life regardless of your race or the violence.
What I absolutely love about my wonderful friends at Hope Pyx Global is that the color of my skin or how more or less damaging the violence that I have experienced has nothing to do with the amount of progress that we were born to create together. The mission is the same for all activist. We choose to do it as it is what matters. And I love the way Hope Pyx Global does it, because we do it together."

“In the Asian culture, it is based on the honor-shame system. Victims often do not dare to speak up. I decided to speak up for them so that they can have a face they can relate to.
It brings me to tears when I see their suffering. I now use my skills to train service providers in criminal intervention, healthcare, and counseling to help them understand the culture in order to serve the victims more effectively. I hope to offer them a safe refuge and the means to build a new life.
I also have a podcast highlighting amazing survivors of traumatic events, family violence, sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and community leaders to share community resources with segments such as:
- 'Military-Time': Military and veterans who have overcome traumatic events and would are now ready to share and help others.
- 'Beauty' Segment: Fellow pageant sisters (winners and nominees), as well as artists (musicians, actors, models, and dancers) who are ambassadors for the cause to share with our audience their lives and the impact they have made.”

"My work as a children’s advocate with the National Court Appointed Special Advocates/Guardian Ad Litem program (NCASA/GAL) opened my eyes to the fact that human trafficking was not just an international issue, it was happening in our own backyards. That’s when I realized I had to act. As an Army Veteran and advocate, I channeled my skills into helping fight for the most vulnerable. I’ve partnered with organizations like Hope Pyx Global to help spread awareness about this issue and to equip others with the tools they need to help eradicate human trafficking."

"The healing journey for those impacted by trauma, abuse and mental health injuries may be a long one. But you are worth it to undertake this act of self-love and you deserve it. There is hope and healing. My continuing journey has brought peace and joy into my life."

"Child sexual abuse impacts survivors in various and profound ways. Not only does it rob survivors of their childhood, but the trauma of sexual abuse can cause lifelong struggles with depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, intimate relationships, and alcohol and substance abuse. As an attorney and advocate for survivors or child sexual abuse, I have the privilege of empowering survivors and helping them obtain the justice that they deserve. I am grateful that organizations like Hope Pyx Global exist to provide survivors and their families with the resources and help that they need to heal."

“To know that a traumatic experience can position me to help others to heal and become advocates themselves is a gift. I believe that we all have the capacity to continually grow and find our voice after trauma and abuse.”

“Perhaps the most evident sign of my surviving domestic violence is the poor condition of my teeth. My ex-husband routinely placed a bullet in the chamber, put the gun to my temple, and pulled the trigger periodically while forcing me to perform oral sex. Because of that, I can’t go to the dentist without becoming extremely triggered and experiencing horrendous flashbacks from the metal touching my face while having someone put his hands and other things in my mouth. The close proximity and lack of control (my inability to withdraw in the middle of the procedure) make me shake so badly that the dentist can’t do any work on my teeth, and the mere thought of sedations scares me too much to even entertain the idea of trying that. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a dentist who can see the connection between my experience and the necessary dental procedures, since most of them lack sufficient knowledge of trauma, and, for whatever reason, have not taken the time to learn how to best treat survivors. The condition of my mouth leads many to assume that I did drugs in the past, and they never consider the possibility of domestic abuse. I’m slowly overcoming the self-consciousness of the condition of my mouth, and I am using my experiences to empower others who are also unable to get their teeth worked on due to their own experiences. I also hope to work with the medical community to allow survivors to get the treatment we need and deserve.”

"As a survivor of domestic violence, emotional mental, and verbal abuse, I felt that I had to give meaning of all that to my children and I endured it all. After a tremendous amount of therapy, I realized that there was an unmet demand for advocates. Unfortunately, domestic violence is one of the leading killers of women globally. Because there is still a negative stigma associated with it, it is not taken seriously. The damage done to survivors, and to their children who witness the abuse never really leaves us. To help alleviate this damage, I started using my voice on social media, sharing my story through podcasts."

Many children taken from their families are subjected to sexual abuse and left in a more vulnerable and traumatized state. "As a teen in foster care, I felt alone and scared. When I came of age, I wondered where I'd learn skills on how to take care of and protect myself. I witnessed other young women fall victim to predators. I am grateful to know organizations like Hope Pyx Global exist. They provide community support to those facing issues no one should have to experience, especially alone."

“My journey was not my destination, it prepared me for something greater. As a thriving survivor of narcissistic personality disorder abuse I now have a voice not only for myself but for other women. God gave me the courage to leave and to not look back. I have been restored back to my true self and I am emotionally healed.”
